At the heart of everything, we set out to offer the best quality.
A lot of people have asked me why I started this business, so here’s the backstory.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a passion for creating — especially dresses. I used to design tiny saree and outfits for my Barbie dolls. My father often stitched curtains for our home and skirts for my sisters and me. I would collect the leftover fabric scraps and try to turn them into clothes for my dolls.
They were never perfect (lol), but I was always proud of what I made. Sometimes I’d “borrow” little pieces of fabric from anything I could find — my own clothes, my siblings’ outfits, tablecloths, and even my mom’s sarees. That early love for sewing and designing slowly grew into a dream: owning my own clothing store.
Even if no one ever bought from me, I knew I would still create — just for the joy it brought me.
In 2018, with some free time on my hands and the incredible support of my family, I opened a small home-based clothing and jewelry business.
From NYC, Queens Dreams to………….. MI, Sterling Heights Style Destination….
Khobsurat Couture began its journey in the vibrant heart of Queens, New York — a place full of culture, diversity, and inspiration. It was there that our passion for creating beautiful, affordable traditional attire truly came to life.
In 2022, Alhamdulillah, we took the next big step in our journey and moved to Sterling Heights, Michigan, where we’ve grown from a small home-based business into a welcoming storefront, ready to serve our community with love, care, and quality craftsmanship.
